Local storms bringing flooded basements

During some local storms SERVPRO of Arlington Heights/Prospect Heights was called out to help assist with water back up into this homeowners basement.  The sump pump was working overtime but could not keep up with the amount of water that was coming into the home. 

During periods of heavy rain, surface water may pool around the house, or accumulate in hard surface depressions such as driveways or roads adjacent to a home. During extreme weather events, this water can flow into the home. Close proximity to a natural stream or road-side ditch can also present a risk. making sure your sump pump is in working order can help keep flooding waters from entering your home.
